After protesting, they told us we needed to talk to the security supervisor. They advised us that our parking pass which they gave us the day before was invalid and if we parked there, we would be towed. So I went to the main lot an again were greeted by security. The first thing I did was drive to the "oversize lot" which was again full. The next day after boating all day, we loaded up and came back to the hotel with the boat and trailer. So we load up and go to the lake and left our trailer at the public boat ramp overnight and parked our boat at the marina since they made such a fuss about it. They told her that it should have never been issued and that we needed to move it. She explained the situation and showed them the pass. The next morning my wife went out to get something out of the truck, and was approached by security again. They made sure and let me know what a big deal it was that we got the pass and that it was a one time deal. So we checked in and went to security and explained the situation. We advised them of the situation and they said we would have to get a parking pass to park in the main lot. (This is not an oversized lot, not marked as an oversized lot, and no oversize parking spaces) It was full, so we pulled back around to the main lot and again were approached by security. Before I could get out of my truck, security showed up and said we would have to park in the oversize lot between the Nugget and Laburge. So we arrived at the hotel and pulled up to park behind a motorhome which was parked in the main parking lot. I called ahead of time and reserved a marina slip and asked if we could park our boat and trailer. Due to excessive rains in Dallas which resulted in all the local lakes being closed, we decided to tow our boat 6 hours for the July 4th weekend. You can read my first review from our previous stay. First of all, this was our second and last stay we will ever make at this hotel. Speaking with Eddie, the VP of hotel operations got us taken care of, but not without being treated like garbage. Security was rude and called the police on us. We reserved a marina slip and towed our boat from Dallas only to be told we couldn't park in the main parking lot, only the oversize, which was full. This is a long review, so I'll give you the short version and you can read the rest if you choose. These guys really know how to take care of you and we are lucky to have 'em in Lake Charles !!!! And, I have played the golf course (The Country Club at Golden Nugget) 3 times and LOVE IT - great course, in great shape (greens were very fast), and the waterfront location and views on the last 5 holes are SPECTACULAR !! The restaurant at the golf course is lovely as well with great menu, food & service and the view from the restaurant and bar (overlooking the golf course, the beautiful I-210 bridge, and Prien Lake & the Calcasieu Ship Channel) is the best between Houston and New Orleans !!! More Show less My wife and I spent the night recently at Golden Nugget to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary !! Everything and Everyone were wonderful - we had a great stay and will do it again soon !!! And our hotel room was fantastic (great sheets) !! My wife also had the first night (Friday-10/16/15) of her 40th High School Reunion Weekend by the pool at H2O !!! They had a BLAST and the staff at Golden Nugget (who knew they were coming) could not have been more accommodating, friendly, or professional !! They did a wonderful job.
